Thank you for your interest in the Gift of Adoption Fund grants program. To begin the application process, please email grants@giftofadoption.org to request a grant application. In order for Gift of Adoption to make a decision regarding your application, you will need to submit each of the following items: - Completed Grant Application - Copy of your most recent tax return - Copy of your approved home study - Two (2) letters of reference - Check in the amount of $40.00 (A one-time $40 application fee is required to apply for a grant.) Any U.S. citizen adopting from anywhere in the world (domestic or international) who has an approved home study from a licensed agency or social worker is eligible to apply. Financial need must be demonstrated. The number of biological children or adopted children in the home does not impact eligibility. Gift of Adoption does not consider an applicant’s marital status, gender, race, creed, national origin, religion, or sexual orientation when reviewing applications. The average grant award is $3,500. The current maximum grant is $7,500. Grant requests are reviewed on a monthly basis and applicants with a completed application packet will be notified by mail of the Grants Selection Committee’s decision within 60 days of the month in which we receive your completed application packet. Please note: Do not apply if you are just starting the adoption process. You must have an approved home study from an adoption agency or social worker before beginning the application process.
