“Joshua was in an orphanage in Asia. He came to us with a bed sore and bed sore scars. When we were introduced to him, the translator told him that we were Mommy and Daddy (Ma Ma and Ba Ba). He asked her, "What is that?" He had no reference for what a mom and dad was, so we have had to show him.
He had never seen crayons or coloring books. He had never ridden on shoulders! A simple trip to the store was like a trip to Disney Land for him!
A whole new world has opened to him....
Joshua has Spina Bifida and is paralyzed from the knees down. Both hips are dislocated and he has lacked basic medical needs. Now he is being fitted for braces and walker, surgery is scheduled… he has regular appointments with some of the best doctors in the country. His medical prognosis has improved remarkably!”
