Who Should Apply?

The Gift of Adoption gave us the privilege to parent a daughter that might have never been adopted into a forever family. Gift of Adoption helped our family with supporting the wonderful experience of adopting our daughter from China. The adoption expenses can be overwhelming and just knowing that this organization has a passion to help people become adopted is such a joy. Adoption has been a wonderful experience for our family. Thank you Gift of Adoption for helping us!

More than $3.8 million in grants have been awarded by Gift of Adoption, helping over 1,300 children unite with their loving ‘forever’ family.

Now you can give a child the dignity, love and family they deserve.

Adoption is within your reach
Any U.S. citizen who has an approved and current home study from a licensed and accredited adoption agency is eligible to apply for a grant from The Gift of Adoption Fund.

The number of biological children or adopted children in the home does not impact eligibility. Moreover, grants are awarded regardless of religion, race, age, marital status, or sexual orientation.

Financial need and perseverance – personal commitment to funding and completing the adoption – must be demonstrated by the applicant(s).

Did you know?
45% of Gift of Adoption grants went to special needs children, giving them a chance to be adopted before becoming institutionalized.

Additional qualifications:

You must have an approved and current home study from a licensed and accredited adoption agency or social worker before beginning the application process. [Note: If your state laws prevent your home study from being released to you or a third pary (e.g. Colorado), you must provide a statement signed by your agency confirming that you have a successful home study on file and that you have been approved to adopt the child with whom you are matched.]

Gift of Adoption awards grants to support domestic and international adoptions.

If adopting internationally, applicants must be utilizing the services of a COA accredited adoption agency in order to qualify for the GOA grant program. Learn more about The Hague Adoption Convention.
